The duo Orpheo specialises in vocal music with the accompaniment of string instruments, its repertoire ranges from the Renaissance. Beginning with our vihuelist (Narváez, Fuenllana, Mudarra...) to music for voice and lute Renaissance, Italian and English (Dowland, Jonson, Byrd, Kite, Galilei, etc) -; always making an incursion into the music of the XVIII and XIX centuries with historical instruments. They also interpret the repertoire of vocal music accompanied by the modern guitar with composers such as Flaw, García Lorca, Granados, Albéniz, Rodrigo, Britten, Villalobos and many more composers who specialise in this type of composition.
They have performed numerous concerts nation wide, as well as in France, Portugal and in Great Britain with great success from both the public and critics.
Amongst its most recent projects stands out the programme" Musica en la epoca de Godoy principe de la paz " (music in the era of Godoy the prince of peace) that they are taking on tour around the whole of Spain in commemoration of the two hundred anniversary of the war of Independence, with boleras and seguidillas recovered by Federico Moretti and Fernando Sor amongst others. Its other programme “La canción del Emperador” (The Song Of The Emperor) in commemoration of the 450 anniversary of the death of the Emperor Carlos V, is also being performed in different places around Spain, Portugal and Great Britain.
