Born in Cáceres, the city where he initiated his musical studies and where he finalised Profesional degree with merits of honour in guitar in the professional music school. He furthered his superior studies in Badajoz, achieving always the highest of grades.
He has completed specialised instrumental courses with prestigious maestros such as David Russell, Gerardo Arriaga, Jose Mª Gallardo del Rey, Carles Trepat, Hugo Géller, and Ricardo Gallén.
Since 1.997 he has worked as a teacher associated to the university of Extremadura, in the teaching department of musical expression, art and movement in the faculty of Education, where he coordinates the Master course of classical guitar and the interpretation of music in the University of Extremadura.
He has been a guitar teacher in professional music schools in Plasencia and Almendralejo and is currently working as a teacher in the professional music school in Cáceres.
He has played concerts both as a solo artist and in groups all over Spain, in France and in Portugal, recording for both radio and for television. He has studied string instruments from the renaissance and barroco with Juan Carlos Rivera.
He has recently published the book “Ángel Iglesias, vida y obra de un guitarrista extremeño universal”, (Angel Iglesias, the life and work of an universal, extremeño guitarist) published by the Excma. Diputación Provincial of Badajoz.
